Jermain Defoe has revealed a tattoo in memory of Bradley Lowery.
Former Sunderland striker Defoe and Black Cats fan Bradley captured the hearts of the nation with the friendship they built during the youngster’s battle with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
Bradley died in July 2017 aged six and Defoe has now had ‘Brads’ inked on his right arm as a permanent reminder of his friend.
“This is an important piece that I have thought about getting for a while, of Brads, for obvious reasons with my relationship with him,” Bournemouth striker Defoe said in a video on Instagram.
“It means a lot to me. No matter what happens I think I can always look at this and it can always pick me up a little bit.
“This is a nice piece and I’m going to add some stars and clouds on it. I’m pleased with this – it means a lot to me.”
