Mark Hughes reveals that he is looking for a new management role, preferably at a Premier League club.

Former Manchester City and Fulham boss Mark Hughes has revealed that he is looking for a return to management in the near future.

The 47-year-old Welshman left Fulham over the summer after only one season in charge at Craven Cottage.

"I'm a professional football manager, I'm looking for a position if and when one comes available," the former Manchester United striker told BBC Sport. "It's just about making sure the next one is one I feel I can move forward in.

"Nothing's close at the moment. Ideally it would be in the Premier League, that's the place everyone wants to work. I've proved myself at Premier League level over a decent period of time, so I would be disappointed if those opportunities weren't there."

Hughes has also enjoyed spells managing the Welsh national side and Blackburn Rovers.
