Steven Gerrard desperate for Los Angeles Galaxy success

Steven Gerrard says that he is champing at the bit over starting his Los Angeles Galaxy career after being unveiled to fans recently.

Steven Gerrard has revealed that he cannot wait to kick-start his Los Angeles Galaxy career as a "successful future" looms in the MLS.

The 35-year-old was unveiled to the supporters during the half-time break in Sunday morning's 4-0 thrashing of Toronto at the StubHub Center.

The ex-Liverpool midfielder guided the Reds to a host of trophies during a illustrious spell at Anfield, and Gerrard now hopes that his stateside odyssey proves similarly as fruitful.

"The first game can't come quick enough," Gerrard told reporters. "I'm really looking forward to a successful future.

"Already I'm starting to feel settled and I'm looking forward to playing with the guys.

"We've already got a good team here, full of wonderful players - so if I can add a little bit to that, I think the future's going to be good."

The former England captain is expected to make his debut in Galaxy's California Clasico against San Jose Earthquakes on July 17.
