FIFA electoral committee approves presidential candidates

Sepp Blatter, Michael van Praag, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein and Luis Figo are confirmed as FIFA's candidates for this year's presidential elections.

FIFA's electoral committee has approved the four candidates for the world governing body's presidential elections on May 29 this year.

Dutch federation president Michael van Praag and Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein are standing against incumbent FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Portugal winger Luis Figo.

A FIFA statement said: "Each of them underwent an integrity check by the investigatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee in accordance with... the Electoral Regulations for the FIFA Presidency."

Blatter has held the post since 1998 and is seeking a fifth term.
