Welsh FA investigating possible Port Talbot Town betting breach

FAW investigating possible betting breach

The Football Association of Wales has confirmed that it is investigating an alleged breach of its betting and integrity rules.

The governing body said this evening that it was looking into an alleged breach "concerning Port Talbot Town".

"The FAW is liaising with the relevant authorities with regards to this matter and Port Talbot Town are co-operating with the investigation," a statement said.

The FAW added that, contrary to some reports, it was not investigating suspicious betting patterns concerning a Welsh Premier League match, saying: "At this stage, the investigation concerns a breach of the FAW's Betting and Integrity Rules."

Port Talbot are expected to respond later on Wednesday.
