Dinamo Bucharest defeated rivals Rapid Bucharest 1-0 this evening to win the Romanian Cup.
A 58th-minute header from defender Adrian Scarlatache helped Dinamo secure their first silverware since 2007.
"We saved the season," Dinamo captain Marius Niculae told reporters. "The atmosphere was incredible and I'm really happy with the win."
Rapid had numerous chances to equalise, and had a penalty claim turned down in the second half when Portuguese midfielder Filipe Teixeira went down in the area.
The result sees Dario Bonetti's side collect their 13th Romanian Cup, with only Steaua Bucharest having won more.
