De Rosario claims MLS award

DC United midfielder Dwayne De Rosario has been named Major League Soccer's Most Valuable Player for 2011.

The award rounded off a hectic season for the 33-year-old, who was traded twice before ending the season in Washington.

He began the campaign with Canadian club Toronto, before moving to New York Red Bulls after three matches in April. Just two months' later the Canada international moved to United.

De Rosario scored found the net on 16 occasions and created 12 goals for his teammates.
