Costa Rican footballer killed in car crash

Costa Rica defender Dennis Marshall has been killed in a car crash, it has been confirmed.

The 25-year-old, who plays for Danish club Aalborg, collided head-on with a truck on a highway near his home in Limon, Costa Rica earlier today.

His wife, who was travelling with him, also died.

Marshall was responsible for scoring Costa Rica's only goal in the Goal Cup quarter final with Honduras on Saturday.
