Stan Collymore: 'I could still play in the Premier League'

Stan Collymore believes that he could still play in the Premier League, despite turning 41 later this month.

Former Nottingham Forest and Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has claimed that he could still play in the Premier League, despite turning 41 later this month.

The former England international retired from football in 2001, but still believes that his fitness and ability would be at the required level to compete at the highest standard.

"In all honesty I know I could still do a job right now in any division if I was to come out of retirement," Collymore told The People. "I'm almost 41, but I run 10km every day and feel as sharp as ever whenever I get a ball at my feet.

"If I was to sign for a club there is no doubt in my mind I could come on and put in a good shift for the last 15 or 20 minutes.

"And I'd still know where the net is."

Collymore failed to find the net during his three international appearances.
