Cabaye: "People should copy Scholes"

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has welcomed the comparisons made with Manchester United legend Paul Scholes.

The France international was likened to the 37-year-old during his time with Lille.

Cabaye has now revealed that he is a fan of Scholes and said that he has learnt his trade by studying him.

"I love Paul Scholes - he came out of retirement and is still very good in every game he plays," said the 26-year-old.

"He can pass, he can move and he can score, he is fantastic. For me, I am very happy to be compared to Paul Scholes and I hope to do the same kind of things he does in games.

"People should copy Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard as well. These are English midfielders that everybody has to copy. They feel football. It is very pleasant to watch their game and to play against them, but I hope I become like them."

Cabaye moved to St James' Park in June 2011.
