Newcastle United have been named as contenders for the signature of Brazilian starlet Abner.
The 17-year-old currently plays for Coritiba, but has been linked with moves to Europe after impressing in the recent Under-17s World Cup in United Arab Emirates.
According to talkSPORT, the Magpies are one of a number of British clubs to have scouts tracking Abner, but will reportedly face competition from Roma and Benfica.
Coritiba are said to value him at around £1.5m.
