Team News: Rob Elliot replaces injured Tim Krul for Newcastle United against Norwich City

Elliot replaces injured Krul for Newcastle

Rob Elliot will start in goal for Newcastle United, replacing the injured Tim Krul, for their Premier League clash against Norwich City.

The keeper comes into the side as the 27-year-old sustained a season-ending knee injury while on international duty with the Netherlands in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan.

The change is one of four Steve McClaren has made to his side following their 6-1 hammering at the hands of Manchester City last time out as Paul Dummett, Cheick Tiote and Jack Colback return to the lineup in place of Kevin Mbabu, Yoan Gouffran, Vurnon Anita.

Norwich boss Alex Neil has made three changes to his side from their 2-1 defeat to Leicester City in their last Premier League outing.

Martin Olsson, Nathan Redmond and Dieumerci Mbokani all come into the lineup this afternoon in place of Matt Jarvis, Wes Hoolahan and Cameron Jerome to take on the Magpies.

Newcastle United: Elliot; Janmaat, Mbemba, Coloccini, Dummett; Sissoko, Tiote, Colback, Wijnaldum; Perez, Mitrovic Subs: Woodman, Lascelles, Haidara, Anita, Thauvin, De Jong, Cisse

Norwich City: Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin, Bassong, Olsson; Redmond, Dorrans, Tettey, Brady; Howson; Mbokani Subs: Rudd, Wisdom, Jerome, Hoolahan, Jarvis, R Bennett, O'Neil
