Yohan Cabaye's appeal rejected

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has lost his appeal against a charge of violent conduct.

The Football Association decided to hand out the punishment following an incident that involved the French international and Brighton & Hove Albion's Adam El-Abd during Saturday's FA Cup tie.

Cabaye opted to challenge the FA's verdict but has now been informed that the decision stands.

He will now miss Newcastle's next three matches against Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.
