Harford 'rejects Newcastle role'

Former Rotherham manager Mick Harford has reportedly turned down a role within the Newcastle United hierarchy.

Reports emerged claiming that the 54-year-old would act as assistant to new director of football Joe Kinnear.

However, the ex-Luton Town boss, who is currently working as a coach at Championship side Millwall, has rejected the offer, according to Sky Sports News.

The role is believed to have been focused on scouting and recruitment.
