Newcastle Jets, Central Coast Mariners share spoils after goalless draw

Newcastle Jets have shared the spoils with Central Coast Mariners, after their A-League fixture remained goalless.

The home side should have been a goal up in the first half, after Mitch Cooper had his effort on goal not given despite the replays showing that the ball had crossed the line.

Both goalkeepers had to pull off world-class saves to keep their clean sheets but chances were few and far between.

The Mariners needed a win to keep them in with a chance of playing in the finals but their hopes have been dented with the draw.

Jets remain five points behind Central Coast in ninth, who are still looking for the second victory of the season.
