Van Persie admits Holland luck after win

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has said that Holland were fortunate to escape with a win over England after the hosts staged a late comeback.

The Three Lions were able to fight back in the final five minutes to level the score after Arjen Robben and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar handed the visitors a two-goal lead, but couldn't stop Robben from scoring a late winner. However, teammate Van Persie admits that there was some luck involved.

"Both teams did well," he said. "England did well too.

"England are a good team, a bit younger today, but they are still a good team. They scored in the 90th minute.

"We had one last attack which was a bit lucky. But it was a nice win, five goals, a good game of football and everyone is happy."

Meanwhile, Holland manager Bert van Marwikj has revealed that Van Persie was withdrawn from the game with a groin problem.
