Guus Hiddink "livid" after defeat to Czech Republic

Hiddink "livid" with defeat

Guus Hiddink left his players in no doubt about his feelings after the Netherlands suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic on Tuesday night.

The World Cup semi-finalists made the worst possible start to Euro 2016 qualifying in Group A, and Hiddink was quick to reveal his anger with the late goal scored by Vaclav Pilar, who took full advantage of an error from Daryl Janmaat to condemn the Dutch to a second loss in a week.

"I am livid," the 67-year-old told NOS. "In the last seconds of a game, you should never lose.

"We could have left here with a 1-1 draw, but we gave it away in a stupid way. Even when I talk about it now, I am still really mad about it."

Hiddink has lost both games in his second stint in charge since replacing Louis van Gaal, who left his role to become Manchester United manager in the summer.
