Stephane Mbia close to Queens Park Rangers switch

Stephane Mbia is poised to become Queens Park Rangers' latest signing after flying in to London to complete his transfer from Marseille.

Mark Hughes has been the most active Premier League manager over the summer window and is still keen to add more fresh faces before tonight's 11pm deadline.

Mbia, who can operate as a central defender or holding midfielder, has been a long-term target and the Hoops have agreed terms with the Ligue 1 outfit over a permanent transfer.

The Cameroon international will arrive at Loftus Road imminently to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical.

Rangers midfielder Joey Barton is close to moving on loan in the opposite direction after passing his medical in France.
