Labrune: 'Anigo will remain in charge'

Marseille President Vincent Labrune has said that finding a long-term replacement for Elie Baup is not his top priority as Ligue 1 approaches the winter break.

Sporting director Jose Anigo has been in charge of the team since Baup's departure earlier this month, and Labrune said that he will remain in charge after Sunday's game against Bordeaux.

"Jose will be present when training sessions resume in January," he told L'Equipe. "He will go on as long as needed. My short-term priority is restoration of the team, both in minds and on the pitch.

"For such purpose, Jose is the right man in the right place. He is the one who knows the group best as he hired all the players.

"That solution is not incompatible with our long term strategy, set last summer. The current cyclical situation won't change anything."

Les Phoceens are sixth in the league table.
