Man United 'weighing up' January move for striker who has 75 Premier League goals to his name

Striker with 75 Prem goals 'emerges' as January target for Man United

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Leeds United forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are believed to have considered moving for Calvert-Lewin in the summer of 2025 following the attacker's release from Everton.

However, it was Leeds that ultimately signed the 29-year-old, and an impressive period at Elland Road has seen the striker score 20 goals and register one assist in 49 appearances.

Calvert-Lewin scored 15 times in all competitions for Leeds last season, while he has five goals in 10 appearances at the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, Man United are weighing up a potential move for the forward during the January transfer window.

Man United 'considering' January move for Calvert-Lewin

The report claims that a transfer, particularly in the middle of a season, is viewed as difficult taking into account the rivalry between the two clubs.

Calvert-Lewin scored against Man United in the Premier League earlier this month, and it is understood that the Red Devils are admirers of his talents.

The forward, who has a contract at Elland Road until June 2028, has also been capped on 14 occasions by England, finding the back of the net four times in the process.

Calvert-Lewin is proven in the Premier League, scoring 75 times and registering 19 assists in 282 previous appearances in the competition.

Do Man United need to sign a striker in January?

Benjamin Sesko has been restricted to just six appearances this season due to a long-term shin problem, and the striker is facing an extended period on the sidelines.

It is understood that the Slovenia international will be missing until at least January, so it is vital that Man United boost their options through the middle for the second half of the season.

Joshua Zirkzee does not have a long-term future at Old Trafford; Bryan Mbeumo has impressed at times through the middle, but the Cameroon international is more influential off the right.

Man United's chances of success this season could depend on their winter business, and a move for Calvert-Lewin would make a lot of sense given his pedigree.
