Manchester United trail £15m Brazil defender

Manchester United are reportedly on the trail of Vasco de Gama's Brazilian defender Dede.

The 23-year-old is said to be on Sir Alex Ferguson's shopping list as a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand, according to the Daily Mail.

Dede, who hails from the same area of Rio de Janeiro as Manchester United twins Fabio and Rafael, has also been the subject of interest from Benfica.

The centre-back, regarded as one of South America's most exciting younsgters, has been valued at around £15million.
