Manchester United 'given boost in Marcus Thuram pursuit'

Manchester United have reportedly been given a boost in their pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram.

The versatile forward's contract expires in the summer, however the Red Devils face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea for his signature.

German outlet Sport Bild reports that the 25-year-old could be available for just €12m (£10.4m) in the January transfer window.

After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Erik ten Hag is understood to be in the market for a versatile attacker in January.

The likes of Cody Gakpo, Goncalo Ramos, Rafael Leao and Joao Felix have been linked to Old Trafford in recent weeks as replacements for the 37-year-old.

France international Thuram has scored 13 goals and assisted four in just 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season for his club.
