Man United 'make contact with Liverpool-linked Thiago Alcantara'

Manchester United are reportedly in talks over a possible deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara during this summer's transfer window.

The Spain international's contract at the Allianz Arena is due to expire next summer, and he is widely expected to seek pastures new before the window closes at the start of October.

Liverpool continue to be linked with the central midfielder, but according to Bild, United are also in discussions over a potential move over the coming weeks.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions are yet to make an offer for the 29-year-old but have opened talks with Thiago's representatives in the hope of agreeing a deal.

The former Barcelona youngster was in impressive form for his treble-winning side during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring three times and contributing two assists in 40 appearances.

Bayern are believed to be looking for a transfer fee in the region of £27m.
