Manchester United make contact with Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes?

Manchester United have reportedly indicated that they are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

United are likely to focus their attention on signing new defenders during the summer transfer window, but it appears that they may also be keen to strengthen further up the pitch.

According to A Bola, United have moved to make contact with the representatives of Fernandes after the Portugal international's impressive campaign.

The 24-year-old has contributed 14 goals and eight assists from 29 outings in Portugal's top flight and the Europa League, and it has seemingly led to attention from the English giants.

Fernandes is said to have a £90m release clause in his deal with Sporting, but United may contemplate offering close to that figure ahead of next season.
