Man United 'interested in Dundee United's Benjamin Siegrist'

Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.

David de Gea has regained the number one spot at Old Trafford this term, which could see Dean Henderson leave Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window.

Man United are believed to have identified West Bromwich Albion's Sam Johnstone as a leading target ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, but according to The Sun, Siegrist is also an option.

The report claims that Red Devils goalkeeper scout Tony Coton recently scouted the Dundee United stopper against Celtic and is familiar with him following their time together at Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old - out of contract this summer - has made 35 appearances for his Scottish side during the 2021-22 campaign, keeping 12 clean sheets in the process.

Siergist started his professional career at Aston Villa but never made a first-team appearance for the English club, moving to Liechtenstein outfit Vaduz ahead of a switch to Dundee United in 2018.
