Manchester United allegedly make contact with the agent of Chelsea attacker Joao Felix to discuss a potential deal for the Portugal international.

Manchester United have reportedly been in touch with the agent of Chelsea attacker Joao Felix to discuss a potential deal for the Portugal international before the end of the January transfer window.

The Red Devils have allowed Antony to make the move to Real Betis on loan, while Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho continue to be linked with exits late in the market.

Rashford's options have dried up, with AC Milan no longer in the race, while Barcelona will find it difficult to sign him before the end of the market for financial reasons.

However, the 27-year-old could still leave before the deadline, while Garnacho is the subject of interest from Chelsea, and a switch to Stamford Bridge cannot be ruled out.

Man United are not actively looking to sell Garnacho, but it is understood that a bid in the region of £60m could be accepted, as his sale would count as pure profit under the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

The Red Devils are therefore considering replacements, and it is understood that Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku is a target, with the Frenchman potentially being involved in the Garnacho conversation.

However, according to The Sportzine, Felix is also a target, with Man United making contact with the Portugal international's agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a switch to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are believed to have a long-term interest in Felix, having been linked with the 25-year-old during his time at Atletico Madrid.

Felix scored four times in 20 appearances for Chelsea while on loan at the club in the second half of the 2022-23 campaign, before representing Barcelona on loan last season.

The forward was widely expected to complete a permanent move to Barcelona last summer, but the Catalan outfit's financial problems prevented a deal from going through.

Chelsea instead swooped to sign the Portuguese on a permanent deal, with the former Benfica youngster penning a contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2030, with the option of an additional year.

Felix 'could move to Man United' late in the January window

Felix has scored seven times and registered twice in 20 appearances for Chelsea during the 2024-25 campaign, but the majority of his success has come in the Conference League.

The forward has four goals in five outings in Europe this term, but he is not a part of Enzo Maresca's first XI in the Premier League, only managing one goal and one assist in 12 Premier League appearances.

Cole Palmer's presence at Stamford Bridge will make it difficult for Felix to ever earn regular starts in England's top flight, and he is believed to be considering his future.

Felix has a record of 11 goals and two assists in 40 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, with his Premier League record standing at five goals and one assist in 28 appearances.
