Lingard 'prepared to leave Man United in January'

Jesse Lingard has stated his intentions to leave Manchester United in January, according to a report.

The midfielder's current contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season and he has rejected the club's offer of a new deal.

Lingard is growing frustrated at his lack of game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as he is yet to start a Premier League game this season.

The Mirror states that the 28-year-old will now look to exit the club when the transfer window opens in the new year, with the aim of playing regular football in a bid to make England's 2022 World Cup squad.

The report adds that Barcelona and AC Milan are among the teams interested in signing Lingard, who will be free to speak to clubs about a free transfer next summer on January 1.

The England international has been at Man United since the age of seven and spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.
