West Bromwich Albion target former Manchester United goalkeeper?

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Joe Coll is reportedly a transfer target of West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen to sign Irish youngster Joe Coll.

The goalkeeper is a free agent following his decision not sign professional forms with Manchester United earlier this summer.

Coll made the decision because he feared that his development would be stunted by a lack of game time at Old Trafford.

"I had a frustrating season at United's academy with the lack of opportunities so spoke to the management there and decided to consider my options," said Coll.

"To improve as a goalkeeper you have to be playing to learn and I wouldn't mind if I was playing for Glenea United or Manchester United.

"I decided not to sign as a pro as when you're a pro you're always a pro. Clubs that might have been interested in me could've been put off if I was a pro and that played a part in my decision. I thought the best thing to do was make myself a free agent."

Coll's reasoning has alerted West Brom manager Steve Clarke, who is eager to acquire some competition for number one keeper Ben Foster, according to Sky Sports News.

The Baggies are believed to be willing to offer Coll a three-year contract.
