Chelsea are in pole position to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly firmly at the head of the queue for Saul Niguez, with the Blues preparing to 'present an offer' for the Atletico Madrid midfielder in the coming days.

The Spain international is believed to be available on loan this summer, and both Man United and Chelsea have been strongly linked with his services.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, though, will allegedly only be able to make another new signing in the current market if they move players on in the coming days.

According to Marca, while Man United are 'waiting', Chelsea 'will present an offer', with the Blues 'insisting' on his signature before the end of the transfer window.

The 26-year-old was again an important player for Atletico last season, making 41 appearances in all competitions, but he is believed to be keen on a fresh challenge.

The former Real Madrid youngster, who has five years left to run on his deal at Wanda Metropolitano, has featured in both of his side's La Liga matches this term.
