Wayne Rooney makes the 6000-mile journey to Thailand ahead of the club's Far East and Australia tour, despite speculation surrounding his future.

Wayne Rooney has travelled with Manchester United as they arrived in Thailand ahead of their pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia.

The Red Devils were mobbed by fans when they landed in Bangkok and Rooney, whose future has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer, was part of the contingent that made the 6000-mile journey.

Rooney's future has been questioned since he was left out of the starting lineup for their Champions League defeat to Real Madrid back in March, with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealing on the final day of the season that Rooney had asked for a transfer.

The England international has been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona, but new boss David Moyes has claimed that Rooney will stay at Old Trafford.

Moyes's side play their first friendly against a Thailand XI on Saturday, but will be without David de Gea, Robin van Persie, Ashley Young, Shinji Kagawa, Nemanja Vidic and Nani.

Nani and Vidic will not feature at all after being ruled out with injuries.

The champions will also visit Japan and China on the trip before returning to Europe to play in Sweden ahead of the new Premier League season.
