Karl Robinson "in shock" at "ridiculous" win over Manchester United

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson admits that he is "in shock" after watching his side thrash 20-time champions of England Manchester United in the League Cup second round.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has said that his side's 4-0 victory over Manchester United in the second round of the League Cup this evening is "something dreams are made of".

The League One side pulled off one of the biggest cup upsets in recent years as Will Grigg and Benik Afobe both scored twice to humble Louis van Gaal's side.

After the match, Robinson admitted that he was "in shock" at the victory, which sends his side into the third round of the competition.

"We spoke before the game about their quality. The first 15 minutes, we found it difficult and looked disjointed but the players turned it round," he told Sky Sports News.

"I'm a little bit in shock... it's ridiculous and something dreams are made of. We've got two strikers fighting for the number nine shirt and they both scored twice each.

"They've set standards they now have to live up to. My players and my football club, and the city in general, deserve credit tonight."

United, meanwhile, will continue their search for a first win under Van Gaal when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor this Saturday.
