Man United injury, suspension list vs. Man City

Manchester United will welcome arch-rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford in the Premier League this Sunday, as the two clubs square off for the fourth time this season.

Both sides go into the derby having reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in midweek, with City winning 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday while United comfortably saw off Derby County 3-0 at Pride Park.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have put together a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions heading into the tie, but the Red Devils lie 15 points behind the current Premier League champions in the table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the Manchester derby.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: March 19 (vs. LASK)

Paul Pogba is nearing a return to first-team action following successful ankle surgery in January, however Solskjaer has confirmed that the midfielder will not return to training until next week and is therefore sidelined for the visit of City.

Marcus Rashford

Status: Out Type of injury: Back Possible return date: Unknown

Marcus Rashford has been sidelined since January with a lower back injury, however the striker is said to be making good progress and should feature before the end of the season.

Harry Maguire

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Manchester City)

Harry Maguire sat out the victory over Derby after rolling his ankle, but the defender's injury is not thought to be serious and Solskjaer hopes that his captain will be fit for the weekend.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Lower back Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Manchester City)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another player who sat out the midweek game at Pride Park due to a lower back injury, and Solskjaer has confirmed that the right-back will face a late fitness test to be fit for the derby.

Daniel James

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Manchester City)

Daniel James has missed out on United's last two fixtures with a knock, but the Welshman could be fit to return to face Pep Guardiola's side at the weekend.

Lee Grant

Status: Out Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: Unknown

Third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant, who has recently signed a contract extension at Old Trafford, has undergone surgery on an unspecified injury but may return before the end of the season.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Timothy Fosu-Mensah continues to step up his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury, however is lacking match fitness and is unlikely to be involved at the weekend despite playing for the Under-23s recently.
