Michael Carrick insists he is not thinking about earning more England caps and is only concentrating on Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has insisted that he is not thinking about earning an England recall for Euro 2012.

The 30-year-old, who has won 22 international caps, has not appeared for his country since playing against Mexico back in May 2010.

Many have said that Carrick's recent form deserves a return to the squad, but the former Spurs man has said that he is only concentrating on his Red Devils' career at present.

"To be honest, it's not something I've thought about," Carrick told United's official website.

"I'm just concentrating on playing here and playing well. Whatever happens, happens. I haven't been involved in the last few squads so I'm just concentrating on doing well here.

"I haven't changed as a player. But maybe as you get older and gain more experience that brings more responsibility. You're looked at slightly differently and that's fine, I'm comfortable with that."

Carrick made his debut for England in 2001.
