Reports suggest that injury forces Nemanja Vidic out of Manchester United's match against Real Madrid, with Jonny Evans coming into the side.

Captain Nemanja Vidic has not been given a place in the Manchester United squad for this evening's Champions League clash against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu.

Early reports suggest that the Serbian has picked up injury, which has resulted in Jonny Evans coming in to partner Rio Ferdinand at centre-back.

Elsewhere in the lineup, Phil Jones has been passed fit and will start in the midfield, while Danny Welbeck has also been included in a wide role.

For Madrid, young French defender Raphael Varane has been preferred to Pepe in defence.

There is also a place in the lineup for Xabi Alonso, who had recently been sidelined with a groin complaint.

Real Madrid: Lopez; Arbeloa, Varane, Ramos, Coentrao; Alonso, Khedira, Di Maria, Ozil; Ronaldo; Benzema

Man United: De Gea; Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra; Jones, Carrick; Welbeck, Kagawa; Rooney, Van Persie
