Manchester City are reportedly contemplating an approach for Ajax teenager Sontje Hansen.
While the Premier League giants have not placed much emphasis on bringing through younger talent over the years, the uncertainty over their future in the Champions League has put the club in a position where they may have to consider other options
According to The Guardian, City hold an interest in Hansen, who has already been provided with his debut in the first team at Ajax.
Although the 17-year-old has not featured since December, the prospect is highly regarded by the Dutch outfit and clubs around Europe.
However, the Eredivisie leaders face a fight to keep hold of the youngster as a result of his contract being due to expire in 2021.
The report adds that this could lead in the Netherlands Under-18 international being available for just £6m.
