How Manchester City could line up against Bournemouth

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for Saturday's Premier League trip to Bournemouth.

Manchester City will be looking to extend their perfect record against Bournemouth when they travel to the south coast this weekend.

The Citizens have won all seven of their previous Premier league meetings with the Cherries - the best record in the competition's history.

No player has played a bigger part in the one-sided nature of this fixture than Raheem Sterling, who has scored in all six of his Premier League matches against Bournemouth and could become the fourth player to score in seven consecutively against a single opponent.

Ahead of City's trip to the Vitality Stadium, Sports Mole looks at how Pep Guardiola may set out his side.

Sergio Aguero scored the match-winning penalty against West Ham United in midweek, but the Argentine striker appears to be in need of a rest.

With back-up striker Jesus doubtful with a thigh injury, however, Guardiola appears to have little choice but to stick with Aguero through the middle on Saturday.

Benjamin Mendy was part of City's squad for the 1-0 win against West Ham in midweek, but Guardiola admits that the left-back is still not fully fit so Oleksandr Zinchenko - who has performed well of late - should retain his place in the backline.

The absence of Fernandinho for the next fortnight is a major blow for Guardiola, whose side are still competing on three fronts, and there will also be no Laporte and Stones this weekend because of injury.

That will likely mean Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi linking up in the heart of defence, while Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva and Sterling - boasting that incredible record against Bournemouth - are all pushing for recalls after being benched last time out.
