Remi Garde pleased with confidence-boosting win

Lyon coach Remi Garde believes that his team's victory over Sochaux will build confidence ahead of their Champions League qualifier against Real Sociedad.

Goals from Yassine Benzia, Alexandre Lacazette and Yoann Gourcuff saw Les Gones recover from an early setback to win 3-1 at the Stade Auguste Bonal on Friday night.

"It's along the lines of what we wanted to do," Ligue1.com quotes Garde as saying.

"It important in terms of what awaits us in the Champions League play-off. It was important to have a dress rehearsal today. It'll be a different standard again on Tuesday.

"In terms of attitude and overall, it's a good win. There's desire and enthusiasm, but there's also a quality of play which we now need to maintain over 90 minutes."

The Spanish side to the Stade de Gerland for the first leg of a playoff on Tuesday.
