Sheffield United 'include £40m buy-back clause in Rhian Brewster bid'

Sheff Utd 'include £40m buy-back clause in Brewster bid'

Sheffield United have reportedly made progress with their bid to sign Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster.

While a number of clubs are interested in the England Under-21 international, few are prepared to consider including a buy-back clause which could benefit Liverpool in the future.

That stance has allegedly led to the likes of Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion now only being regarded as outsiders for the youngster.

According to The Sun, Sheffield United are prepared to pay £17m for Brewster, as well as giving Liverpool the option to re-sign their academy graduate for £40m at a later date.

The Blades have been forced to act after failing to find the back of the net in Premier League fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Leeds United respectively.

One potential stumbling block is Brewster's desire to return to London, where he lived until 2015 before leaving Chelsea for Merseyside.
