Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella joins Willem II on loan

Liverpool have announced that Pedro Chirivella has joined Dutch football club Willem II on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has featured in Jurgen Klopp's pre-season plans, but he will not be fighting his way into the first team just yet.

Chirivella is familiar with Dutch football having spent the second half last season at Go Ahead Eagles, where he scored twice in 17 outings.

The Spaniard joined the Merseyside outfit's academy from Valencia in 2013 before moving into the senior setup two years later, but he is yet make his mark.

Chirivella has made just one Premier League appearance for Liverpool, and that was in the 2015-16 campaign.
