Inter Milan tell Liverpool that Nicolo Barella is not available for transfer this summer, according to Italian journalist Enrico Camelio.

Inter Milan have reportedly made it clear to Liverpool that Nicolo Barella is not available for transfer this summer under any circumstances.

The Reds are thought to be in the market for at least one new central midfielder this summer, having seen Georginio Wijnaldum depart on a free transfer, and Barella has been linked with a switch to Anfield.

However, according to Italian journalist Enrico Camelio, speaking to Calciomercato, Inter have told the Premier League giants that the 24-year-old is 'not transferable'.

Camelio claims that Liverpool had 'asked for information' about the Italy international, but a move seems unlikely as the Serie A champions are not prepared to discuss a summer deal.

Barella has been in impressive form for Euro 2020 semi-finalists Gil Azzurri this summer, scoring once and providing two assists in four appearances for his country.

The midfielder, who still has three years left to run on his contract at San Siro, scored three times and provided 13 assists in 46 appearances for I Nerazzurri during the 2020-21 campaign.
