Liverpool have reportedly entered the chase for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, following the player's transfer request.

Liverpool are reportedly readying a bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

The Belgian international recently informed the Villans of his desire to leave the club, which has put the Reds on alert, according to the Daily Star.

Villa are looking for around £25m for the forward, with a recent report claiming that Benteke would prefer a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds are believed to have turned their attention to Benteke after they missed out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, following the Armenian's move to Borussia Dortmund.
