Liverpool chasing Simon Mignolet?

Liverpool are reportedly set to launch a bid for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Current Reds shot-stopper Pepe Reina has been linked with a move to Barcelona for the majority of the season and manager Brendan Rodgers is preparing to bring Mignolet to the club in the event of Reina's departure, according to The People.

Liverpool are looking to bid around £6.5m for the Belgium keeper, who earned widespread plaudits for his performances last season, despite Sunderland's struggles.

The 24-year-old has been with the Black Cats since 2010.
