Liverpool transfer news: Real Madrid attacker 'approves' personal terms with Premier League champions

Diaz replacement? Real Madrid attacker 'approves' Liverpool proposal

Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo has reportedly reached an informal agreement with Liverpool over personal terms.

The Merseyside club have spent recent days focusing on their pursuit of Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak

However, the Reds are believed to be willing to cool their interest after failing with a £120m bid for the Sweden international.

Newcastle are reluctant to sell Isak and will only consider sanctioning his departure if they receive a £150m proposal.

Liverpool now appear to be turning their focus to finding a replacement for Luis Diaz, who recently completed a £65.5m move to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool agree Rodrygo personal terms

The Premier League champions have identified Rodrygo as a potential option to fill the void created by the Colombian's departure.

According to ESPN Brasil, via the Evening Standard, Liverpool have already made contact with Rodrygo's representatives over a possible move to Anfield.

The Brazil international has reached an agreement with the Reds over an 'informal offer of personal terms'.

With Rodrygo seemingly open to the move, Liverpool now have to decide whether to step up their interest with a formal bid.

Real Madrid open to Rodrygo exit

Rodrygo has enjoyed significant success since joining the Spanish giants from Brazilian side Santos in 2019.

The winger has netted 68 goals and provided 51 assists in 270 appearances, helping the club to win multiple honours during that period, including three league titles and two Champions League trophies.

However, the 24-year-old now faces an uncertain future under new head coach Xabi Alonso, who is expected to play with just two forwards in his first season in charge.

Those positions are likely to be filled by Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, which would force Rodrygo to settle for a bench role.

As a result, Real Madrid are willing to entertain offers for the attacker in the final month of the transfer window.
