Premier League champions Liverpool will travel to play Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday in what could be a pivotal match in the race for the title.

Arne Slot's men come into the clash fresh from two consecutive victories, the latest of which was a 1-0 win against Real Madrid at Anfield in the Champions League at Anfield, and their improved performances have renewed hope in the fanbase that they can catch league leaders Arsenal.

However, there are doubts about the fitness of stars such as Alexander Isak and Alisson Becker, who have both missed a number of games for the Reds this term.

GIOVANNI LEONI

Teenage centre-back Giovanni Leoni is unfortunately set to miss the rest of the season as a result of an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which occurred on his Liverpool debut against Southampton in the EFL Cup in September.

ALISSON BECKER

Type of injury: Hamstring

Possible return date: November 22 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Liverpool's number one goalkeeper has frequently suffered injury issues in recent seasons, and he will be deputised once again by Giorgi Mamardashvili when his side face Manchester City because of a hamstring injury he picked up against Galatasaray in late September.

It was hoped that Alisson would be able to make a return before the November international break, but Slot confirmed the shot-stopper will play no part at the Etihad.

ALEXANDER ISAK

Possible return date: November 9 (vs. Man City)

The £125m striker was often sidelined due to injuries while at Newcastle United, and having not had a pre-season with Liverpool, it is not surprising that he has struggled with fitness this term.

Alexander Isak was forced off at half time against Frankfurt on October 22 with a groin issue and has not played since, and Slot has already ruled him out of the starting lineup against City, though he did suggest that there is a chance the Swede could be involved in the squad.
