Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp plays down Sadio Mane praise

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he will not get carried away praising Sadio Mane after two impressive performances from the summer signing.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he will not get carried away with praising summer signing Sadio Mane following his impressive performances.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Reds from Southampton for a reported £30m fee in June, has played two games since the start of the season.

The Senegal international scored in Liverpool's 4-3 victory over Arsenal on the opening day of the Premier League campaign, and produced assists for Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge in last night's 5-0 thumping over Burton Albion in the EFL Cup.

Mane was missed at the weekend as a shoulder injury prevented him from playing in the Merseyside outfit's 5-0 loss to Burnley at Turf Moor.

"I really like this player, but I don't like to talk too much after only two games for him," Klopp told reporters. "We knew of his qualities and how they fit our style, which is why we brought him here. It's not that we have to pat ourselves on the back every day at signing him."

Liverpool will take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the early kickoff on Saturday.
