Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: 'Confidence will grow when wins come'

Brendan Rodgers believes that confidence will grow within his Liverpool team when they grab a "sequence of wins".

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers fully expects the team to grab a "sequence of wins" in the near future, which will in turn increase confidence in the squad.

The Merseyside outfit have picked up eight points from a possible 18 in the Premier League, and have only scored four goals overall.

Questions over Rodgers's future at Anfield have been asked over the last few days, but the Northern Irishman is unfazed by speculation that he could lose his job.

With regards to matters on the pitch, Rodgers told reporters: "What you're looking for is to be clinical, you have to be efficient in your game, there's no point in having those shots if you're not going to turn them into goals.

"That's something that we've worked hard on over the last couple of days, reinforcing that mentality and positivity to score, and in the game it's all about confidence.

"Once we get a sequence of wins and we get the goals that the players are working hard to create and score then I'm sure you'll see that confidence level lift and the players will really go on and express themselves."

The Reds will take on Aston Villa on home turf this Saturday.
