Lazar Markovic has insisted that he will not look to prove a point to Jose Mourinho when Liverpool take on Chelsea in the Capital One Cup tonight.
The Serbian had long been linked with a switch to the Blues before completing a £20m switch to Anfield during the summer.
Chelsea are reported to have had first refusal on the then-Benfica winger, but manager Mourinho decided against activating it in a deal that would have cost £12.5m.
Speaking to The Mirror ahead of tonight's first-leg semi-final at Anfield, however, the 20-year-old insists that he harbours no resentment over the snub.
"I will not play to prove a point. No, I will play like every other match and I don't have to prove or show anything to him," he said.
"He said I'm not good enough? That's Mourinho's opinion."
The second leg is scheduled to commence next Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.
