Liverpool confirm that Luis Diaz has been added to their Champions League squad for the knockout stages, with Nat Phillips being left out.

Liverpool have confirmed that new signing Luis Diaz has been added to the team's Champions League squad for the knockout stages.

The Colombia international arrived from Porto in a deal that could reach up to £50m and made his debut for the Reds in their 3-1 FA Cup win over Cardiff City on Sunday.

Diaz has already featured six times for Porto in this season's Champions League, playing the full 90 in both defeats to Liverpool and scoring twice against AC Milan.

Now, Liverpool have confirmed that Diaz will be eligible to represent the club in the knockout rounds, with the Reds set to face Inter Milan in the last-16.

Centre-back Nat Phillips - who enjoyed a stellar performance at San Siro versus AC Milan before being shipped out on loan to Bournemouth - has been removed to make way for Diaz.

The first leg of Liverpool's last-16 clash with Inter takes place at San Siro next Wednesday before the return leg at Anfield on March 8.

Diaz handed Liverpool an injury scare after Cardiff's Aden Flint landed with his studs on his knee, but Jurgen Klopp downplayed any concerns after the victory.

Liverpool's Champions League squad in full:

Alisson, Adrian, Caoimhin Kelleher, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas, Andrew Robertson, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, James Milner, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harvey Elliott, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Takumi Minamino, Diogo Jota, Diaz, Divock Origi
