Wednesday's Champions League predictions including Inter Milan vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for both of today's Champions League fixtures - Inter Milan vs. Liverpool and Red Bull Salzburg vs. Bayern Munich.

German giants Bayern Munich will travel to Austria for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night.

Die Roten Bullen head into the knockout rounds as huge underdogs but they can be encouraged by Bayern's surprise Bundesliga defeat to VfL Bochum last weekend.

We say: Red Bull Salzburg 1-3 Bayern Munich

While Bayern Munich will understandably be the strong favourites to win on Wednesday, Salzburg are likely to have their moments on home soil and they will be confident of getting their name on the scoresheet against a Bayern side who have conceded in four of their last five matches.

However, the prolific form of star man Lewandowski should be enough to help the visitors secure a healthy first-leg advantage.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Inter Milan vs. Liverpool (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

An eagerly-anticipated Champions League contest will take place at San Siro on Wednesday night, when Scudetto holders Inter Milan play host to six-time European champions Liverpool for the first leg of their last-16 tie.

The Reds were one of three teams in this year's competition who completed the group stage with a 100% record, while the Nerazzurri finished second behind Real Madrid.

We say: Inter Milan 1-2 Liverpool

While Liverpool will be the favourites to win on Wednesday, Inter will also fancy their chances of securing a first-leg advantage in front of their home supporters.

The Reds have conceded in each of their last four Champions League away matches, but they should have enough quality in the final third to outscore their opponents and return to Anfield with a slender lead.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
