Sven-Goran Eriksson sacked by Leicester

Reports this evening have suggested that Leicester City have parted company with manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The former England boss has been relieved of his duties by the club's Thai owners following the 3-0 defeat at home to Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

Eriksson, who has also managed Lazio and Manchester City, took over at the King Power Stadium in October 2010.

The Swede was given £10m to strengthen the squad during the summer, £4m of which was spent on centre-back Matthew Mills from Reading.

He leaves the club 13th in the Championship table but just five points from automatic promotion and two points from the playoffs.
